W2M Challenge

The W2M challenge is a student competition where the aim is to build the best mind for the creature in Tyrrell's world. You should read about Tyrrell's world elsewhere in this site before attempting to build a mind. Minds are judged according to certain scoring criteria outlined elsewhere in this site.

Minds can be built and tested offline using the Tyrrell Mind Development Kit, available from this site. Once the developer of a mind is happy with its performance, they can submit it to this site, where it is uploaded, and made available as a service for others to use, and optionally include in their own mind. Alternatively, they can put their mind online themselves at their own site, using the SOML protocol. Once a mind is available as a service, it can be run in the online world, and its score will be recorded on the score board.

The following sub-sections contain information nevessary to develop a mind using the Java based, Tyrrell Mind Development Kit.

  1. Creating a mind offline

  2. Integrating an online mind into your own mind

  3. Submitting the mind

  4. Frequently asked questions
